I've read some of the books on the list of banned books and I don't think there's anything wrong with them to make them be banned. Most middle school students are mature enough to read all of the books on the banned books list and, the ones that aren't should know they aren't mature and not read those books.
I don't think that schools should ban books. Students should be able to read all kinds of books. Some books can teach us lessons like Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson and Cut, by Patricia McCormick. Those books say that when you're having problems with yourself or someone else you should tell somebody about it because maybe they can help. Other books like the Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park, the Anastasia series by Lois Lowry
and, the Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor are just about girls' lives. These are some of the books I've read on the banned book list.
Books shouldn't be banned, people should just know what they're mature enough to read and what not to read. Banned book week shouldn't even exist because I bet the students that arent allowed to read those books would like to read at least some of them.
